Lead AI Engineer

About the role

Twelve Data is building a new AI‑driven hub in Dubai and needs a senior engineer to embed artificial‑intelligence tools across the product stack. You will own end‑to‑end feature delivery while pioneering AI practices that accelerate the whole team.

Key responsibilities

• Develop production‑ready code, tests, documentation and migrations using Go and Python, paired with AI assistants.
• Research, prototype and roll out AI agents for code review, test generation, documentation, CI/CD automation and data access.
• Design and maintain high‑load microservices, PostgreSQL schemas, and observability for systems handling hundreds of millions of requests daily.
• Publish integrations and protocols that expose Twelve Data’s market data to external AI agents.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proactive ownership mindset; able to start tasks independently and drive them to production.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, distributed team with mandatory code reviews and on‑call rotations.

• PostgreSQL (schema design, query optimisation, transactional integrity)
• Docker, Redis, Kafka, gRPC, REST
• GitLab CI/CD, trunk‑based development
• Microservice architecture, high‑load systems
• AI tools such as Claude, Cursor; experience building custom AI agents and prompt engineering
