Lead Materials and Corrosion Engineer

About the role

The Lead Materials and Corrosion Engineer will head the delivery of materials engineering consultancy services for Wood’s internal business units and external clients. Based primarily in Wood’s Abu Dhabi office, the role may also involve on‑site support for onshore and offshore projects. You will guide technical decisions across the energy value chain, from concept studies to detailed design and project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the provision of materials and corrosion engineering advice to internal teams and external customers.
• Develop and review material selection, corrosion mitigation strategies, and lifecycle assessments for projects.
• Support front‑end engineering (FEED), detailed design, and owner’s engineer activities.
• Coordinate on‑site inspections and provide technical support for offshore and onshore installations.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and client specifications.

Required profile

• Degree in Materials Engineering, Corrosion Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Significant experience (typically 8+ years) in materials selection and corrosion management within the energy sector.
• Proven ability to lead technical teams and manage client relationships.
• Willingness to travel for on‑site assignments, including offshore locations.
