Lead Mechanic – Calibration

About the role

The Lead Mechanic (Calibration) is responsible for maintenance, calibration, surface finishing and painting of Emirates and third‑party aircraft, components, tools and equipment. The role works within a team under the guidance of a Supervisor or Engineer to ensure compliance with company procedures and aviation regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out routine component and tool servicing, calibration, maintenance, modification and approved structural repairs following manufacturers' procedures.
• Interpret and use Aircraft Maintenance Manual (AMM), Illustrated Parts Catalogue (IPC), Component Maintenance Manual (CMM), Standard Practice Manual (SPM) and ISO/IEC 17025 Quality Manual.
• Assist Supervisors/Engineers in troubleshooting, defect rectification and modifications as per job cards.
• Maintain clean work areas, ensure FOD‑free environments and audit toolboxes regularly.
• Promote a strong safety culture, report safety shortfalls and minimise accident risk.
• Ensure timely task completion to reduce turnaround time and avoid operational delays.

Required profile

• Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent) in Aeronautical, Mechanical, Avionics, Electronics or related engineering.
• At least 5 years of engineering experience, including 2 years in a workshop environment covering calibration, structures, hydraulics, pneumatics, fuel & oil, landing gear, etc.
• Valid Aircraft Maintenance Engineering License or Engineering Apprenticeship.
• Full knowledge of aviation regulations, international aircraft maintenance standards and industrial safety practices.
• Minimum of four calibration/servicing authorisations and ability to sign off test, verification and calibration reports.

Required skills

• Calibration of aircraft components and tools.
• Use of specialised workshop equipment and measurement instruments.
• Interpretation of AMM, IPC, CMM, SPM and ISO/IEC 17025 documentation.
• Environmental monitoring and quality‑related activities.
• Familiarity with standard and specialised aviation tools and safety practices.
