Chiller Technician

About the role

EDGE is seeking an experienced Chiller Technician to install, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of chiller systems across industrial, commercial, and residential sites.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and perform installation of water‑cooled, air‑cooled and absorption chillers, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety regulations and local codes.
• Conduct routine inspections, preventive maintenance, cleaning of coils and heat exchangers, and replace key components such as compressors, motors, valves and pumps.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and refrigerant faults, perform repairs, and verify system performance after service.
• Provide emergency support for breakdowns, implement temporary fixes and coordinate with engineers, contractors and project managers.
• Prepare detailed service reports, maintenance logs and technical recommendations for energy‑efficiency improvements.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in refrigeration and air‑conditioning technology or mechanical engineering.
• 5–7 years of experience with industrial, commercial and residential chiller systems.
• EPA Section 608 certification and preferably certifications on Trane, Carrier or York chiller systems.

Required skills

• Installation and commissioning of chiller equipment.
• Preventive maintenance and component replacement.
• Refrigerant handling and leak detection.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of chiller systems.
