Lead QC – Maritime & Shipping

About the role

The Lead QC will direct all quality control activities across Divetech projects within the Maritime & Shipping Cluster, ensuring strict compliance with project specifications, international standards (ASME, AWS, NACE/SSPC) and QHSE requirements. The role also manages inspection teams and drives the effective implementation of quality systems and procedures.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise inspection activities for materials, components and workmanship.
• Ensure compliance with specifications, drawings and approved documents.
• Review inspection reports, test results and quality documentation, escalating defects and non‑conformities.
• Oversee implementation of Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and related quality procedures.
• Maintain proper documentation and record‑keeping of all quality activities.
• Coordinate with project teams to resolve quality issues and ensure adherence to standards.
• Conduct site inspections, audits and client inspections, ensuring QHSE compliance.
• Lead, allocate and support QC Inspectors and QA/QC personnel.
• Drive continuous improvement in QC processes and support audit readiness.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Mechanical, Welding or related engineering field.
• Certification in Quality Control (e.g., CQI, Six Sigma) – preferred.
• Excellent English communication; Arabic is a plus.
• 6–8 years of experience in quality control/inspection, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of ASME, AWS and NACE/SSPC standards.
• Experience in marine, construction or industrial environments.
• Proficiency with engineering drawings, specifications and inspection tools.
• Ability to develop and manage Inspection Test Plans (ITPs) and corrective actions.
• Familiarity with QHSE standards and safety procedures.
