Lead Weight Control Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Lead Weight Control Engineer to join Technip Energies in Abu Dhabi, reporting directly to the Head of Department. The role focuses on weight control and centre‑of‑gravity management for offshore oil and gas projects.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement project weight control procedures, weight breakdown structures and contingency philosophies across all project phases.
• Coordinate with all disciplines to collect, review and validate weight and centre‑of‑gravity data, and assess lifting, transportation and installation requirements.
• Monitor weight growth, prepare weight status reports, registers and forecasts, and support weight optimisation initiatives.
• Review technical queries, site queries and management‑of‑change requests for weight impact and participate in change reviews.
• Maintain weight databases and liaise with Marine Warranty Surveyors on weight‑related requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural or Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree optional).
• Minimum 15 years experience in offshore oil and gas projects, including at least 10 years dedicated to weight control reporting.
• Proven experience managing weight budgets and growth on major offshore platforms, jackets, topsides, brownfield projects and offshore structures.
• Strong interdisciplinary coordination, client interaction and interface management skills.
