Learning & Development Manager

About the role

The Learning & Development Manager drives the company’s values and philosophy by ensuring all training and development activities are strategically linked to Marriott’s mission and vision. This role works closely with property leadership to identify employee and organizational development needs and to deliver effective training programs that support business results.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and promote employee training programs, ensuring ongoing learning on product knowledge, company philosophy, customer service, and leadership skills.
• Conduct needs assessments, design and develop training curricula, and facilitate both custom and corporate training sessions.
• Measure training effectiveness, monitor enrollment and attendance, and evaluate ROI through performance data and guest satisfaction metrics.
• Develop training plans and budgets aligned with business objectives, manage controllable expenses, and adjust methodologies as needed.

Required profile

• 2‑year degree in Human Resources, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with at least 2 years of HR or related experience, or a 4‑year bachelor’s degree with certification as a trainer.
• Demonstrated ability to lead guest hospitality initiatives, provide feedback, and foster a positive service culture.
• Experience in evaluating training outcomes, applying adult learning principles, and partnering with operational leaders.

Required skills

• Certified trainer status.
• Strong knowledge of training program design, delivery, and evaluation.
• Ability to manage training budgets and align programs with strategic business goals.
