Learning Support Assistant - Senior School

About the role

Repton Dubai, an international school in the heart of Dubai offering the UK curriculum up to IGCSE and the IB or A levels, is looking for a caring, compassionate and experienced Learning Support Assistant. The post suits someone with a passion for supporting young pupils and families, with excellent communication, organisation and collaboration skills and a genuine resonance with the school's values.

Key responsibilities

• Implement, monitor and personalise learning adaptations to support pupils in inclusive classrooms
• Prepare learning materials for pupils under the teacher's direction
• Collect formative assessment data on pupil progress using systems set up by teachers or the Inclusion Support Team
• Facilitate peer interactions and reinforce positive attitudes and behaviour to help pupils integrate socially
• Help pupils with personal organisation and pastoral support so they settle quickly
• Translate, clarify and explain instructions, and support pupils who need extra time
• Liaise with the Inclusion team and teachers to monitor progress and review language learning intentions
• Communicate with parents professionally and refer them to teachers on educational, health, development or complaints matters
• Work cooperatively with the class teacher and other assistants, follow school policies and attend professional learning and workshops

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree
• Education or pupil development qualifications are an advantage
• Excellent written and spoken English
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
