Legal Counsel – Corporate & Commercial Law

About the role

The Legal Counsel will support the Senior Legal Counsel by providing professional legal advice and ensuring the company complies with all applicable UAE and Abu Dhabi laws, regulations, and shareholders' agreements. The role safeguards the company's interests across all transactions and legal matters.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on corporate, commercial, contract, and labour matters.
• Follow up external litigations, including police, labour, local courts, and pension fund cases.
• Manage relationships with government departments and industrial/commercial organisations.
• Monitor official gazette updates and report on relevant legislative changes.
• Review bidders' qualifications, contract terms, bank guarantees, performance bonds, and insurance policies.
• Process licensing applications and liaise with licensing authorities.
• Prepare feedback reports on labour law cases and support the HC Division with pension fund matters.
• Coordinate translation and legalization of legal documents and maintain comprehensive legal archives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
• Minimum 6 years of legal practice and advisory experience within a large industrial organisation, preferably oil and gas.
• Strong knowledge of Abu Dhabi and UAE corporate, commercial, contract, and labour law.
• Excellent persuasive and interpersonal abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
