Legal Counsel – Litigation Strategy Coordinator (EEMEA)

About the role

The Litigation Strategy Coordinator will support the development, execution, and governance of Mastercard's litigation strategy across Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EEMEA). Acting as the central coordination point, the role ensures consistency, effective reporting, stakeholder alignment, and proactive management of legal risk for significant disputes, regulatory investigations, enforcement actions, and strategic litigation matters.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate oversight of the EEMEA litigation portfolio, including commercial disputes, competition matters, regulatory investigations and strategic litigation.
• Maintain regional litigation trackers, dashboards and reporting mechanisms; ensure timely escalation of material developments and settlement opportunities.
• Assist in developing case strategies with internal legal teams and external counsel, gathering facts, conducting legal analysis and tracking relevant legal and regulatory developments.
• Manage external law firm engagements, monitor budgets, forecasts and accruals, and support alternative fee arrangements.
• Prepare concise executive updates, litigation dashboards, risk summaries and board‑level briefing materials for senior leadership.
• Act as liaison between legal, compliance, communications, public policy, finance and business teams, coordinating cross‑functional responses to regulatory inquiries.

Required profile

• Qualified lawyer with experience in litigation management, regulatory investigations and strategic dispute resolution.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Strong analytical and reporting skills, with attention to detail and risk awareness.
