Lifeguard

About the role

Mandarin Oriental Jumeira, Dubai, a stylish urban resort on the Arabian Gulf with open-air facilities, is looking for a Lifeguard to join its Lifeguard team. The role covers the safety of guests at the pool area, emergency response and first aid, and follows the hotel's corporate policies and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Comply with corporate and hotel policies, the MO Code of Conduct, and the Safe, Sound and Sustainable standards, including the MO Social Media Policy.
• Protect stored information and guest, customer and colleague personal data, and avoid inappropriate use of the hotel's network and computers.
• Support learning and development activities and attend daily and monthly meetings and training courses as required.
• Carry out additional duties requested by management related to hotel operations.
• Keep constant surveillance of guests at the pool area and assist with cleaning outside operating hours.
• Act immediately to secure guest safety in an emergency and provide emergency care until medical services arrive.
• Perform limited maintenance duties to keep the pool clean and safe, and present a professional appearance and attitude.
• Answer guest questions about spa and wellness and hotel matters courteously, and proactively offer assistance.

Required profile

• Senior school qualification or equivalent is a must.
• Certified lifesaving and lifeguarding, recognized by the UAEM.
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a lifeguard.
• Previous experience in a 5-star hotel and in the Middle East region are advantages.
• Clear verbal and written English and the ability to understand guest needs and deliver good service with little supervision.
• Mature, outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills.
