Lifting Appointed Person

About the role

The Lifting Appointed Person will plan, supervise and coordinate all lifting operations on construction sites, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. This full‑time, on‑site position is based in Sharjah and involves preparing lift plans, assessing loads and selecting appropriate equipment and methods.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed lift plans, method statements and site‑specific procedures.
• Conduct risk assessments and organise pre‑lift briefings.
• Collaborate with crane operators, riggers and site supervisors to execute lifts safely and efficiently.
• Monitor ongoing lifting activities, verify equipment certifications and maintain accurate documentation and reports.
• Identify hazards, participate in toolbox talks and safety meetings, and ensure continuous site safety oversight.

Required profile

• Demonstrated experience planning and supervising lifting operations on construction or industrial sites, including complex and heavy lifts.
• Strong knowledge of lifting equipment, rigging practices, load calculations and relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Ability to conduct risk assessments, prepare method statements and develop detailed lift plans.
• Effective communication and coordination skills with crane operators, riggers, supervisors and safety teams.
• Relevant vocational or technical certification in lifting operations, rigging or crane‑related disciplines; recognized Appointed Person qualification is an advantage.
