Line Mechanic

About the role

Nestle Middle East Manufacturing LLC is hiring a Line Mechanic in Dubai. The role is responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance of plant equipment so that breakdowns are avoided and planned maintenance and shutdowns are kept to a minimum, while always protecting product and people safety. It also involves improving machines to keep them in good condition and boost performance.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on production machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and basic electrical faults to minimise downtime.
• Carry out routine inspections and condition monitoring to ensure machine reliability.
• Follow SOPs, safety procedures and maintenance schedules, and support production teams in resolving equipment failures.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, quality, hygiene, environmental and safety requirements.
• Take part in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (BDA & GSTD).
• Complete work orders, maintenance reports and records in the Asset & Maintenance Management (AMM) system.
• Support machine installations, modifications, overhauls and continuous improvement projects, and coordinate safely with contractors and suppliers.
• Support TPM, PM Pillar, NCE and reliability improvement initiatives, and maintain good housekeeping and maintenance hygiene.

Required profile

• Diploma or technical certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance or a related field.
• Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or food-processing environment.
• Good knowledge of mechanical systems, bearings, power transmission, pneumatics, hand tools and fabrication work.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and equipment manuals.
• Willingness to work on shifts and respond to breakdowns when required.

Required skills

• Basic knowledge of electrical and automation systems.
• Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance principles.
• Familiarity with TPM, AMM and continuous improvement methods.
• Knowledge of food safety, GMP, hygiene and workplace safety requirements.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to use MS Office.
