Maintenance Engineer - Fabrication (3-5 Years Experience)

About the role

A Maintenance Engineer is needed to keep all plant equipment and machinery running efficiently, safely and reliably. Reporting to the COO, the engineer oversees preventive and breakdown maintenance, maintains spare parts inventory, coordinates vendor AMCs and ensures compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements. The role is based in the UAE across three sites (JAFZA, DIP and Abu Dhabi) and requires flexibility to work across all locations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, run and monitor preventive maintenance schedules and annual calendars to minimise machine downtime.
• Plan and manage servicing, overhauls and repairs of core fabrication machinery such as laser cutting, bending, lathe, drilling, welding, grinding and cutting machines, plus utility equipment.
• Maintain accurate spare parts inventory, set min/max stock levels, prepare a 2-year spare parts plan and work with Purchase and Stores on procurement.
• Keep machine-wise maintenance histories, log breakdowns and ensure records, checklists and registers meet QMS procedures and audit standards.
• Supervise external service providers and AMC vendors, monitor contract execution and review service reports.
• Coordinate with production, purchase, stores and external providers to schedule downtime and track planned versus completed tasks.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics or a related engineering field.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in plant/machinery maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• Hands-on experience with preventive and breakdown maintenance on production machinery.
• Familiarity with QMS requirements and maintenance-related compliance and documentation.
• Full willingness to work across JAFZA, DIP and Abu Dhabi depending on operational needs.
