Manager - Design Office

About the role

The Design Office Manager will lead flydubai's Design Organisation, ensuring day‑to‑day operations align with regulatory approvals and internal standards. The role focuses on maintaining the Design Organisation Handbook, managing design changes across the fleet, and supporting the growth of in‑house capabilities.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee investigation, development and implementation of design changes (modifications) for the flydubai fleet.
• Maintain and update the Design Organisation Handbook to reflect regulatory and procedural changes.
• Lead airworthiness and certification matters, ensuring compliance with UAE GCAA CAR‑21 Subpart J and other applicable regulations.
• Coordinate third‑party design change projects, including Supplemental Type Certificate implementations with OEMs and Type Certificate holders.
• Monitor open certification programmes, track compliance activities and align resources with project timelines.
• Support investigations of non‑conformities identified by authorities or internal monitoring systems.
• Drive engineering management strategy to improve efficiency and align with organisational goals.

Required profile

• Minimum 84 months (7 years) of experience in aviation design, certification or related engineering management.
• Strong knowledge of UAE GCAA CAR‑21 Subpart J and EASA Part 21 Subpart J requirements.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex design change projects.
• Excellent understanding of airworthiness, certification processes and maintenance repair organisation systems.
