Manager – Testing & Commissioning – PPC Specialist

About the role

The Manager – Testing & Commissioning – PPC Specialist will lead the configuration, testing and commissioning of the central plant control system for a power generation facility in Abu Dhabi. This position ensures that all generation and compensation assets operate in harmony and meet local grid codes, utility dispatch instructions and AGC requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Review and validate PPC control philosophy, functional design documents and signal/data mapping against grid codes and utility requirements.
• Coordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) for PPC logic and interface compliance.
• Configure PPC set‑points, control modes and priorities; integrate with solar inverters, wind turbines, BESS, STATCOM and substation protection.
• Perform open‑loop and closed‑loop testing to verify active/reactive power control, ramp‑rate, curtailment and fallback modes.
• Support AGC and grid‑compliance testing, including frequency response and voltage control at the PCC.
• Prepare commissioning test reports, configuration backups and change records; train O&M and control‑room teams.

Required profile

• Minimum 96 months (8 years) of experience in power‑plant control system testing, commissioning or related engineering.
