Marine Engineer – UAE National (Abu Dhabi)

About the role

SEGULA Technologies is seeking an experienced Marine Engineer (UAE National) to support offshore marine operations for major oil and gas projects in Abu Dhabi. The role involves technical analysis, inspections, and engineering support to ensure vessel performance, safety, and compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Support routine marine office activities such as vessel monitoring, tender scope preparation, risk‑assessment review, and contractor audits.
• Conduct technical inspections of vessels, jack‑up barges and rigs to verify operational and HSE compliance.
• Evaluate machinery performance, fuel efficiency and reliability of hired marine vessels.
• Maintain and verify fuel consumption records and prepare periodic monitoring reports.
• Follow up on classification compliance after repairs or damage.
• Provide engineering input for projects, incidents and technical investigations.
• Prepare marine engineering technical reports as required.

Required profile

• Unlimited Class 1 Motor Certificate of Competency from an accepted issuing country.
• Minimum 5 years experience as Marine Chief Engineer on vessels above 5 000 HP.
• Relevant office‑based marine industry experience; shipbuilding experience is an advantage.
• Strong offshore oil‑and‑gas marine experience and sound knowledge of marine safety, HSE and operational procedures.
• Excellent technical reporting and communication skills in English.
• Ability to work in offshore operational environments and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
• Compliance‑focused mindset with familiarity of international marine standards and best practices.
