Procurement Officer

About the role

A highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Officer is sought to join the team in Sharjah. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of procurement experience in the construction, contracting or engineering industry; experience in the wastewater treatment (WWTP/STP/WTP) sector is a strong advantage. The role covers sourcing, negotiating, ordering and tracking materials and services while keeping costs under control.

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors
• Obtain quotations, compare prices and prepare comparative statements for management approval
• Issue purchase orders and ensure timely procurement of materials and services
• Coordinate with project, engineering and warehouse teams on material needs and delivery schedules
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong vendor relationships
• Ensure purchased materials meet technical specifications and quality standards, and track deliveries to resolve delays or discrepancies
• Maintain procurement records, supplier databases and documentation, and process transactions in Tally ERP
• Assist in inventory monitoring and stock replenishment, and identify cost-saving opportunities
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and support management with procurement reports

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 2 years of procurement experience in construction, contracting or engineering
• Experience in wastewater treatment projects is an added advantage
• Familiarity with local UAE suppliers and procurement practices is an advantage

• Tally ERP (required)
• Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
• Good negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and manage several procurement activities at once
