Material Planner

About the role

The Material Planner will ensure a smooth material flow to support the production schedule while keeping inventory levels to a minimum. You will work closely with demand planning, purchasing, warehouse and technical teams to guarantee that the right quantities of materials are available at the right time.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and interpret the Master Production Plan (MPS) from demand planning.
• Review production schedules, set time‑fences, safety stock levels and lot sizes, and manage work order opening and closing.
• Coordinate with the Technical department to update Bill of Materials consumption rates.
• Create purchase requisitions and follow up with Purchasing to ensure on‑time delivery.
• Manage material requirements in collaboration with Purchasing and Warehouse, monitoring deviations and taking corrective actions.
• Maintain inventories of local and imported materials, monitor scrap, slow‑moving and obsolete items.
• Evaluate materials performance through turnover ratios, availability and days of supply.
• Collaborate with Production, Sales, Quality and Finance to optimise use of alternative materials.

Required profile

• University degree in Engineering or a related field.
• At least 3 years of progressive experience in material planning or production control within an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of cable manufacturing processes is a plus.
• Certifications or training in Planning and Supply Chain are preferred.
