Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (PMC)

About the role

Wood is seeking an experienced Mechanical Commissioning Engineer (PMC) to lead pre‑commissioning, commissioning, start‑up and performance testing of on‑shore oil and gas facilities for an ADNOC Onshore client in Abu Dhabi.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute mechanical pre‑commissioning and commissioning procedures, checklists and test packs.
• Supervise activities such as equipment inspection, cleaning, hydrostatic/pneumatic testing, nitrogen purging, lubrication and leak testing.
• Commission and test equipment including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, tanks, filters, valves and piping systems.
• Coordinate with electrical, instrumentation, process, HSE and construction teams to ensure system readiness.
• Prepare commissioning schedules, daily progress reports, test records and handover documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in mechanical commissioning within oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery or EPC projects.
• Experience on on‑shore oil and gas facilities, preferably ADNOC/ADNOC Onshore projects.

Required skills

• Mechanical pre‑commissioning, commissioning and start‑up procedures.
• Equipment inspection, alignment verification, lubrication and preservation.
• Hydrostatic, pneumatic, nitrogen purging and leak testing.
• FAT/SAT participation and troubleshooting with vendors/OEMs.
• Monitoring of pressure, temperature, flow, vibration and lubrication conditions.
