Mechanical Engineer - Heavy Equipment Field Service

About the role

Al Marwan Group, founded in 1978 and active across the GCC in construction, heavy machinery, oil and gas, real estate, development and hospitality, is hiring a Mechanical Engineer for its field service team. The engineer delivers mechanical service, maintenance and repair support for heavy equipment across workshops and field operations, working closely with service teams, spare parts personnel and customers to minimise downtime and keep equipment running reliably.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and powertrain issues in excavators, loaders, cranes, dozers, forklifts and dumpers
• Perform preventive maintenance, overhauls and breakdown repairs
• Carry out field service calls and emergency breakdown support
• Read and interpret technical drawings, service manuals and schematics
• Perform root cause analysis and recommend corrective actions
• Inspect equipment, prepare service reports and job cards, and supervise field service activities and technicians at project sites
• Monitor job progress, quality, productivity and HSE compliance
• Coordinate spare parts requirements and liaise with stores, procurement, workshop and field service teams on parts planning and inventory
• Support equipment commissioning, testing and major overhauls
• Follow HSE policies and complete jobs within allocated time and quality standards

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering
• 2-5 years of experience in heavy equipment service, maintenance, field operations or spare parts coordination
• Experience working in the UAE or GCC preferred
• UAE driving licence preferred for field-based assignments

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of heavy equipment mechanical systems
• Experience with hydraulic systems, engines, transmissions and axles
• Troubleshooting and repairing complex mechanical faults
• Proficiency in MS Office and service reporting systems
• Strong communication and reporting abilities; ability to work under pressure and prioritise tasks
