Mechanical Project Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Project Engineer leads the planning, execution, monitoring and delivery of all mechanical works on construction projects. You will ensure HVAC, plumbing, drainage, fire‑fighting, LPG and related MEP systems are installed safely, on schedule, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, supervise and coordinate all mechanical activities on site.
• Review drawings, specifications, BOQs and contracts before work starts.
• Prepare work schedules, track progress and meet contractual milestones.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, subcontractors, suppliers and internal teams.
• Manage site engineers, foremen, supervisors and subcontractors.
• Ensure installations comply with approved drawings and specifications.
• Monitor manpower, material, equipment and resource utilization.
• Oversee procurement and timely delivery of materials.
• Conduct site inspections, resolve technical issues and prepare RFIs, MIRs, method statements and ITPs.
• Lead testing, commissioning, inspections and authority approvals.
• Ensure compliance with QA/QC, HSE and company standards.
• Review and certify subcontractor work and progress claims.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports.
• Identify risks and implement corrective actions.
• Support close‑out activities, including as‑built drawings and O&M manuals.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in MEP contracting, especially high‑rise residential, commercial or mixed‑use projects in the UAE/GCC.
• UAE driving licence preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Strong command of MS Office.
• Experience with Primavera and MS Project.
• Knowledge of MEP project management software.
