Mechanical Project Manager - Immediate Joiner

About the role

Schroeder Projekt ElectroMechanic LLC is looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee mechanical works on its project in the UAE. The ideal candidate has strong MEP project management experience, can manage site activities, coordinate with project stakeholders and deliver works on time and in line with project requirements. Railway or infrastructure project experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Key responsibilities

• Manage mechanical works from mobilization through installation, testing, commissioning and handover, and develop and monitor execution plans, schedules, manpower plans and resource allocation.
• Ensure work meets the approved programme, budget, quality standards and contractual requirements, and monitor site progress, delays and risks.
• Review project scope, contract documents, BOQs, technical specifications and drawings; coordinate with civil, structural, electrical and other disciplines on shop drawings, submittals, method statements and inspection and test plans.
• Coordinate site access, work permits, sequencing, interfaces and approvals, and lead mechanical engineers, project engineers, supervisors, foremen, technicians and subcontractors.
• Work with procurement and logistics to ensure timely availability of materials and equipment, and monitor expenditure, material consumption, manpower costs and variations.
• Enforce quality plans, method statements and HSE requirements, and prepare daily, weekly and monthly progress reports and corrective actions.
• Ensure timely submission of as-built drawings, testing and commissioning reports, O&M manuals, warranties and handover documents.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent recognized engineering qualification.
• Suggested minimum of 10 years of relevant mechanical/MEP construction experience, including substantial project management or senior project execution experience.
• Strong UAE experience in MEP contracting and mechanical project delivery.
• Experience managing mechanical works, site operations, project teams, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Preferred: experience in Etihad Rail, railway, transportation infrastructure or other large-scale projects.

Required skills

• Mechanical installation, HVAC, piping, ventilation, testing and commissioning, and knowledge of firefighting and fire and life-safety systems.
• Project planning, cost control, procurement, quality assurance, HSE and contractual requirements.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, BOQs, specifications and construction programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project reporting.
