Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer

About the role

TradesApp is looking for a Mechanical Rotating Equipment Engineer based in Sharjah. The engineer works on the selection, design review, engineering and technical evaluation of rotating equipment used in oil and gas and industrial facilities. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of rotating equipment performance, mechanical integrity, applicable API and ISO standards and EPC engineering practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in rotating equipment engineering, preferably in oil and gas EPC projects
• Preferred: offshore project experience

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of centrifugal pumps, positive displacement pumps, compressors, blowers, fans, turbines and their auxiliary systems
• Familiarity with API 610, API 617, API 618, API 619, API 674, API 675, API 682 and ISO 5199 standards, as applicable
• Ability to review equipment selection, performance curves, hydraulic conditions, NPSH, efficiency, power requirements and operating envelopes
• Understanding of mechanical seals, bearings, lubrication, couplings, shaft alignment and vibration monitoring
• Experience evaluating datasheets, technical specifications, vendor drawings and performance test procedures
• Knowledge of vibration analysis, rotor dynamics, equipment reliability and machinery troubleshooting
• Understanding of foundation requirements, dynamic loading, nozzle loads and piping interfaces
• Experience in technical bid evaluations, vendor coordination, FATs and equipment inspection
• Knowledge of installation, commissioning, start-up and maintenance requirements
• Familiarity with ADNOC specifications and applicable API, ASME and ISO standards
• Coordination with process, piping, electrical, instrumentation and structural engineering disciplines
• Preferred: familiarity with equipment condition monitoring systems
