Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for maintaining, modifying, overhauling and installing mechanical machinery in a power‑plant environment, ensuring compliance with SOPs, HSE guidelines and quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Check consumable stock levels and support the Outage Manager with inventory control and re‑ordering.
• Update maintenance logbooks, daily progress reports and measurement protocols, and sign attendance sheets for site, meeting and toolbox talks.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives and adhere to organisational policies, SOPs and HSSE procedures.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by the Outage Manager and collaborate with mechanical supervisors, engineers and subcontractors.

Required profile

• Degree or associate degree in a technical field; Gas Turbine Systems Technician preferred.
• Minimum two years’ experience maintaining, dismantling and installing industrial equipment such as pumps, motors, fans, generators and turbines.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and documents.
• Strong analytical, communication and leadership abilities, with a safety‑first mindset.

Required skills

• Mechanical maintenance of pumps, motors, fans, generators and turbines.
• Interpretation of mechanical schematics and technical documentation.
• Knowledge of power‑plant equipment, maintenance practices and HSSE requirements.
