Medical Laboratory Technologist – Level 1

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Technologist – Level 1 will join Mediclinic Middle East’s laboratory team to perform routine diagnostic tests in line with professional and regulatory standards. This full‑time position supports patient safety by delivering accurate and timely test results.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory tests across clinical chemistry, immunology, serology, autoimmune, haematology, coagulation, blood transfusion and clinical microscopy.
• Monitor sample management, including sorting, allocation and tracking of body fluids, blood, urine and spinal fluid specimens.
• Operate, calibrate and maintain laboratory analysers and equipment, ensuring temperature logs are up‑to‑date.
• Analyse results, verify accuracy and contribute to quality‑improvement initiatives.
• Support training, health and safety programmes and compliance governance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in medical laboratory sciences or a related field.
• 3‑5 years full‑time experience as a medical laboratory technologist, preferably in clinical chemistry.

Required skills

• Knowledge of real‑time multiplex PCR and molecular diagnostic systems.
• Proficiency with laboratory information systems and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to perform quality‑control checks, troubleshoot instrumentation and maintain standard operating procedures.
• Familiarity with a wide range of laboratory equipment used in chemistry, haematology and microbiology testing.
