Mid‑level Trade Mark Attorney – Dubai

About the role

Abion is seeking a qualified Trade Mark Attorney or solicitor with 2–5 years post‑qualification experience to join its Dubai‑based IP team. You will manage a diverse portfolio of trademark, design and other IP matters for local and international clients across the UAE and GCC/MENA region.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct trademark clearance searches and advise on registrability and availability.
• Prepare and file trademark applications in the UAE and GCC/MENA jurisdictions, coordinating international filings.
• Manage prosecution of applications, responding to office actions and examiner queries.
• Handle trademark oppositions, cancellations and appeals before the UAE Ministry of Economy.
• Advise on enforcement strategies, including cease‑and‑desist letters and customs recordals.
• Maintain renewal, recordal and portfolio management programmes.
• Draft and advise on IP assignments and coexistence agreements.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates or paralegals.

Required profile

• 2–5 years experience in trademark prosecution and portfolio management, preferably in a law firm or IP boutique.
• Qualified trademark attorney/agent or legal qualification with relevant IP experience; UAE/GCC practice preferred.
• Strong knowledge of UAE Federal Trademark Law and GCC trademark systems.
• Excellent drafting, analytical and client communication skills.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is an advantage.
