Mobile Application Developer (React Native)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Mobile Application Developer to design, build and maintain high‑quality iOS and Android apps, both natively and with React Native, and to create Unity‑based VR experiences for Meta Quest and other headsets.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and ship mobile apps using Swift/SwiftUI, Kotlin/Jetpack Compose and React Native, selecting the appropriate technology per feature.
• Own end‑to‑end release management: code signing, provisioning, CI/CD pipelines, App Store Connect and Google Play submissions, phased rollouts and release notes.
• Implement OTA update pipelines (Expo/EAS, CodePush) with channel strategy, rollback and version‑gating.
• Integrate and manage Firebase services such as Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Analytics and App Distribution.
• Build robust networking layers, including RESTful APIs, multipart uploads, WebSockets or Server‑Sent Events, and bulk/resumable upload flows.
• Lead mobile security audits covering secure storage, certificate pinning, obfuscation, OWASP MASVS compliance and vulnerability remediation.
• Design, develop and ship Unity‑based VR applications, handling interaction design, performance optimisation and store submissions for Meta Quest, SteamVR or Pico.
• Write clean, testable code with unit, integration and UI tests; participate in code reviews and set engineering standards.
• Monitor app health (crash rates, performance, battery, network usage, VR frame‑rate) and drive continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with backend, product, design and QA teams to translate requirements into technical designs.

Required profile

• 5+ years of professional mobile development experience with apps shipped on both the App Store and Google Play.
• Strong native proficiency in Swift/SwiftUI and Kotlin/Jetpack Compose.
• 3+ years of production React Native experience, including native bridging and OTA updates.
• Hands‑on Unity (C#) development for VR with at least one VR app shipped to a store.
• Deep knowledge of XR Interaction Toolkit / OpenXR, 6DoF tracking, spatial UI and performance optimisation for standalone headsets.
• Proven ownership of store deployments and CI/CD pipelines (Fastlane, Xcode Cloud, Gradle, GitHub Actions, Bitrise).
• Extensive experience with Firebase services and REST API integration.
• Experience implementing real‑time features via WebSockets or Server‑Sent Events.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct or remediate mobile security audits.
• Must be based in the UAE and willing to work onsite in Abu Dhabi.
