MYP Humanities Teacher (August 2027)

About the role

GEMS World Academy – Dubai, an IB World School offering the full International Baccalaureate continuum from PreK to Grade 12, is looking for MYP Humanities Teachers to join its team from August 2027. Successful candidates will be passionate about inquiry-led learning and committed to academic excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences aligned with the IB curriculum, inspiring curiosity, critical thinking and a lifelong love of learning.
• Create an inclusive, internationally minded learning environment, differentiating instruction and using assessment data to support student progress.
• Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, share best practice and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Build positive relationships with students, parents and the wider school community, supporting wellbeing and co-curricular and enrichment opportunities.
• Uphold the values of GEMS Education and the IB Learner Profile and commit to professional growth.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Education degree, or an initial degree in Humanities or a related field, together with a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE, State Teaching License or equivalent.
• At least three years of experience teaching Middle Years Humanities, ideally within an IB curriculum (IB experience preferred but not essential).
• Strong understanding of the IB MYP framework and Approaches to Teaching (preferred).
• Available to join in August 2027.
