OCTG Shop Supervisor

About the role

Energy Products and Services is hiring an OCTG Shop Supervisor in Abu Dhabi. The supervisor leads the shop floor, sets the pace and holds the team to standard, owns output, delivery and cost, and uses OEE and loss data to set priorities. The role sits alongside the Machine Shop Manager and covers production planning, CNC threading, quality, training and reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Review customer purchase orders and work orders for connection type, size, weight, grade, drawing revision and special requirements before release.
• Plan and sequence the line daily and weekly with the production planner, group connection types and minimise changeovers.
• Load work to machines, keep CNCs manned across shifts, manage rosters and handovers, and track orders through machining, inspection, surface treatment and dispatch.
• Balance loading between shops, share skilled machinists and equipment during peaks, and act as technical point of contact for sales on manufacturability and lead times.
• Coordinate with stores, procurement and suppliers on bar stock, coupling stock and pipe availability, and confirm material against order specification and mill certificates.
• Lead the installed CNC threading lathes on setups, offsets, tooling and troubleshooting; establish and improve OEE per machine and shift, cut setup times (SMED) and run daily production boards and shift reviews.
• Support the Quality Management System, handle non-conforming product in the QAR system and drive right-first-time threading.
• Coach and train machinists, operators and gauge inspectors, including licensor-required qualifications, and communicate with customers, management and other NOV divisions.
• Control labour hours, overtime, tooling and consumables costs, purchase consumables within authority, capture metrics in SharePoint/JDE and ensure preventive maintenance of CNC machines and related equipment.

Required profile

• Diploma in Mechanical or Production Engineering, or a technical trade qualification with equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in OCTG threading, including 3+ years supervising a premium connection threading line.
