Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist Consultant – American Board

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Pediatric Emergency Medicine Specialist / Consultant with an American Board qualification to join a leading healthcare institution in the UAE. The role involves delivering comprehensive emergency care to infants, children and adolescents presenting with acute and critical conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, stabilize and manage pediatric patients in the Emergency Department.
• Provide evidence‑based treatment for medical, surgical, traumatic and critical pediatric emergencies.
• Manage pediatric resuscitation and critically ill patients, performing emergency procedures within scope.
• Coordinate care with pediatric specialists, intensive‑care teams and multidisciplinary professionals.
• Determine appropriate admission, referral, discharge and follow‑up plans and maintain accurate patient records.
• Participate in clinical governance, quality‑improvement and patient‑safety initiatives.
• Support teaching, training and supervision of junior medical staff where required.

Required profile

• American Board certification in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
• Valid medical registration in the country of practice and eligibility for UAE medical licensing.
• Relevant experience in pediatric emergency care.
• Strong clinical, communication and decision‑making abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a high‑volume emergency department.

Required skills

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
