Perioperative Staff Nurse - PACU/Prep Recovery

About the role

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is seeking experienced perioperative staff nurses to join its Post‑Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and Prep Recovery areas. The role involves delivering both general and specialised nursing care to patients of all ages, applying evidence‑based practices and supporting family‑centred care in a high‑acuity hospital environment.

Key responsibilities

• Complete timely patient admissions, conduct ongoing assessments and update care plans based on individual needs.
• Provide direct nursing care, monitor patient conditions, document interventions and evaluate outcomes.
• Assess and address educational needs of patients and families, delivering culturally appropriate teaching materials.
• Validate patient and family understanding of provided education.
• Administer prescribed medications using barcode scanning in accordance with policies.
• Carry out prescribed treatments and procedures following approved protocols.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum two years post‑graduate experience in a general surgery/operating‑room setting and recent five‑year experience in PACU/Prep Recovery.
• Valid national nursing licence.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS and PALS certifications required or obtainable within specified time‑frames.
• Strong oral and written English communication skills; Arabic language proficiency preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience with electronic medical records.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a team.
