Planning Engineer - Interior Fit-Out

About the role

The Planning Engineer for interior fit-outs is responsible for developing, monitoring and controlling project schedules for interior fit-out and refurbishment projects. The role ensures projects are completed on time by preparing detailed work programs, tracking progress, identifying delays and coordinating with project teams to implement corrective actions.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project schedules, baseline programs and work breakdown structures (WBS)
• Prepare execution plans, resource-loaded schedules, procurement schedules and material delivery plans
• Monitor progress against the baseline schedule, perform critical path analysis and recommend corrective actions
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, design and commercial teams
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, look-ahead schedules, dashboards and recovery plans
• Track procurement, fabrication, delivery and installation activities and monitor manpower, equipment and material utilisation
• Assist in evaluating extension of time (EOT) claims and delay analysis
• Maintain planning documentation and support tender planning with preliminary schedules and manpower histograms

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related discipline
• Minimum 5-8 years of planning experience in interior fit-out and construction projects in the UAE/GCC
• Experience in commercial, hospitality, residential, retail, healthcare and office fit-outs, and in turnkey interior fit-out and bespoke joinery projects
• Experience preparing tender programs and recovery schedules

Required skills

• Knowledge of authority requirements and construction regulations
• Power BI or project reporting tools (an advantage)
