Planning Engineer (UAE National) – Manufacturing

About the role

A full-time Planning Engineer position in Dubai, open to UAE nationals, in a manufacturing environment. The role plans and schedules production across multi-site plants so that the right quantity of conforming product is produced in line with sales demand, while improving productivity and machine utilisation.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and use the capacity of multi-site plants to meet sales demand, identify productivity improvements and give management accurate, timely planning reports.
• Create planned orders in APO (Advanced Planning and Optimization), review them, acknowledge customer orders and track progress across sites.
• Advise delivery lead times to the commercial team and prepare weekly production forecasts with site planners.
• Coordinate with the purchase department on raw material procurement and with the commercial function on delivery enquiries and tenders.
• Identify orders suitable for outsourcing and help site planners use manufacturing capacity efficiently.
• Plan and schedule maintenance of plant and machinery as advised by engineering supervisors.
• Take part in continuous improvement and innovation initiatives, and support other manufacturing and information system areas.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a cable company, with hands-on production planning and scheduling.
• Hands-on experience with all machines related to MV and HV.
• Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, inventory control and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including master planning and detailed scheduling.

Required skills

• SAP 4 HANA ERP (skills tested in the interview).
• Advanced Excel.
• KPI monitoring such as plan versus actual, bottleneck management and OTIF.
