PMC Specialist Construction Engineer

About the role

Wood is looking for an experienced PMC Specialist Construction Engineer to oversee and coordinate construction activities at a project site for a high-profile client. The role ensures work is executed safely, efficiently and in line with approved designs, project specifications, quality standards and schedule requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate construction activities so that work is safe and efficient.
• Ensure construction complies with approved drawings, specifications, codes and standards.
• Monitor contractor performance, productivity and adherence to schedules.
• Review work plans, methodologies and site procedures, and coordinate with engineering, procurement, quality and commissioning teams.
• Conduct site inspections and check compliance with quality and HSE requirements.
• Identify risks, delays and constraints and recommend corrective actions.
• Track progress, prepare regular status reports and manage materials, equipment and manpower.
• Support testing, commissioning, punch-list clearance and handover, and take part in progress meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction or a related engineering discipline.
• Typically 15+ years of construction management and site supervision on major Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, LNG, Energy or Infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in EPC/PMC project environments.
• Experience managing contractors, subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams.
• Professional certifications such as PMP, Chartered Engineer, OSHA or NEBOSH are advantageous.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, engineering standards and industry codes.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications and construction documentation.
• Good understanding of HSE, quality assurance and risk management.
• Proficiency in project management and construction reporting tools.
