Polymers Sales Manager / Commodity Trader – West Africa (Ghana & Nigeria)

About the role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial Sales Manager / Commodity Trader to drive our polymer business expansion across Ghana and Nigeria. The role will lead market penetration, manage the full sales cycle and build lasting relationships with manufacturers and distributors in the West African plastics sector.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute commercial strategies to increase polymer market share in Ghana and Nigeria.
• Own the end‑to‑end sales process: lead generation, technical sales, deal structuring, contract negotiation and delivery logistics.
• Maintain high‑touch relationships with local manufacturers, converters, distributors and industrial buyers.
• Assess regional commercial risk, ensure compliance with import/export regulations and manage client credit terms.
• Monitor commodity price movements, supply‑chain trends and regulatory changes to provide market intelligence.

Required profile

• Proven experience in polymer trading (PE, PP, PVC, PET, PS) with an existing client portfolio.
• Deep knowledge of the macro‑economic and logistical landscape of Ghana and Nigeria.
• Established commercial network within the West African polymer manufacturing sector.
• Highly autonomous, willing to travel frequently across the region and fluent in English.
• Strong hunter mentality and ability to close complex deals.
