Portfolio Strategy and Business Planning Senior Executive

About the role

The Portfolio Strategy & Business Planning Senior Executive supports portfolio strategy, planning and performance management across the Global South region. The role develops portfolio and business planning analyses, evaluates portfolio performance and turns market, product and business insights into fact-based recommendations for management decisions. It independently manages analytical workstreams, supports portfolio planning and works with regional and global stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct portfolio assessments across products, segments and markets, identifying gaps, overlaps, growth opportunities and coverage improvements
• Evaluate portfolio competitiveness, lifecycle performance and effectiveness to support future planning decisions
• Support portfolio optimization, including product introductions, upgrades, lifecycle management and phase-outs
• Develop planning assumptions, business models and analytical frameworks for annual, strategic and mid-term planning
• Evaluate growth opportunities, investment scenarios and business planning options, and run scenario modelling and sensitivity analyses
• Monitor portfolio performance against strategic objectives, covering market share, product mix, volume and profitability
• Prepare portfolio reviews, management reports, executive presentations and planning materials
• Coordinate planning across Product Strategy & Requirement Planning, Market Intelligence, Regional Centres and Global Functions, and facilitate planning workshops

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, Economics, Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 4 years of experience in portfolio management, strategy, business planning, product management, consulting, commercial excellence, market intelligence or a similar field
• Demonstrated experience independently managing analytical workstreams and conducting portfolio reviews, market assessments and scenario analysis
• Experience in regional or global matrix organizations preferred; automotive industry experience is an added advantage
• Fluent English (written and spoken); German, Portuguese, Spanish and/or Arabic is advantageous

Required skills

• Strong understanding of portfolio management, business planning, strategic analysis and performance management
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint, including management reporting and digital reporting solutions such as Power BI
• Use of generative AI tools to improve productivity is an advantage
