Power Electronic Design Engineer (Engineer II SIL)

About the role

EDGE is seeking an experienced Power Electronic Design Engineer to lead the design, simulation, and testing of power conversion devices for automotive and industrial applications. The role involves hands‑on prototype development, system‑level design, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Design, simulate and test DC/DC, DC/AC converters, SMPS, inverters and motor drives.
• Create schematic and PCB layouts using tools such as Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics or KiCAD.
• Develop technical documentation and ensure compliance with IPC and MIL‑STD standards.
• Perform thermal management, EMI/EMC mitigation and reliability analysis.
• Support prototyping, testing, troubleshooting and validation activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7‑10 years of experience in electronic hardware development, preferably in the defence or automotive sector.
• Hands‑on, practical mindset with ability to work under pressure.
• Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Required skills

• Power conversion design (DC/DC, DC/AC, SMPS, inverter, motor drives).
• Electronic CAD tools: Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro, Mentor Graphics, KiCAD.
• Knowledge of IPC‑2220, IPC‑A‑600, IPC‑6012B, IPC‑A‑610 standards.
• EMI/EMC design practices and compliance.
• Firmware development and reverse engineering of electronic hardware.
• System‑level design and troubleshooting of electronic hardware.
