About the role
This senior position offers the chance to lead instrumentation and control engineering for high‑profile offshore oil and gas projects in the Middle East, delivering safe and reliable systems that meet ADNOC standards.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and review instrumentation and control deliverables for offshore facilities, including jackets, topsides, decks and modules.
- Prepare instrument indexes, I/O lists, data sheets, specifications, hook‑up drawings and material requisitions.
- Design control system architecture, cable schedules, termination diagrams, loop diagrams and cause‑and‑effect charts.
- Coordinate with process, piping, mechanical, electrical, structural, telecom and safety disciplines to ensure clash‑free designs.
- Review vendor documentation, technical bids and supplier drawings for compliance.
- Participate in HAZOP, SIL, LOPA, design reviews and 3D model reviews.
- Support selection and specification of field instruments, control valves, shutdown valves, analyzers and fire‑gas devices.
- Mentor junior engineers, review their deliverables and provide technical guidance.
- Assist procurement, fabrication, installation, commissioning and start‑up activities.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Control, Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 15 years of instrumentation and control experience in oil & gas, preferably on ADNOC offshore projects.
- Strong background in detailed design for offshore facilities and brownfield modifications.
- Proven ability to work in fast‑paced EPC/EPCM environments on multi‑billion‑dollar projects.
Required skills
- SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) and AVEVA Instrumentation.
- AutoCAD, MicroStation and Navisworks.
- Knowledge of ISA, IEC, API and NFPA standards.
- Instrument sizing, control valve selection and hazardous area classification.
- SIL assessment, HAZOP, LOPA and cause‑and‑effect development.
