Principal Backend Development Engineer (C++)

About the role

Bybit is looking for a Principal Backend Development Engineer to lead the design and implementation of the core trading backend. You will work on high‑throughput, low‑latency systems that power a global cryptocurrency exchange.

Key responsibilities

• Design and develop the backend of the trading core system, ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Maintain, upgrade and optimise the platform to handle high concurrency, stability and low latency requirements.
• Collaborate with business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions and produce technical documentation.
• Research and evaluate cutting‑edge technologies to shape the future architecture of the platform.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong business sense with ability to propose feasible solutions independently.
• Experience with large‑scale project foundations and application architecture design.
• Familiarity with distributed systems that handle high traffic, concurrency and performance tuning.

Required skills

• Proficient in C++ with solid understanding of modern standards.
• Experience with open‑source libraries such as folly and boost.
• Hands‑on knowledge of NoSQL caches and message queues, specifically Redis, Kafka and Elasticsearch.
• Ability to perform system analysis, code refactoring and performance optimisation.
