Principal Mechanical Site Engineer

About the role

Lead the design, analysis and implementation of mechanical systems for high‑profile building services, infrastructure and sustainability projects across the UAE. Work closely with clients, architects, consultants and contractors to deliver compliant, energy‑efficient solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of HVAC, plumbing, fire protection and other mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA, local codes and green‑building certifications.
• Manage the full project lifecycle from concept through detailed design to construction support, delivering on time and within budget.
• Mentor and guide a team of mechanical engineers and CAD/Revit technicians, fostering technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Collaborate with architects, structural and electrical engineers and contractors to provide integrated design solutions and act as the technical point of contact for clients.
• Implement energy‑efficient, net‑zero and low‑carbon design strategies, exploring emerging technologies and smart building systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Membership in the UAE Society of Engineers and Dubai Municipality Certified Engineer.
• Preferably Chartered Engineer (CEng) and/or Certified Data Centre Specialist.
• Minimum 15 years of design experience, at least 10 years on UAE projects, with a strong background in data‑centre projects.
• Valid UAE driving licence and residence in the UAE.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit‑BIM for mechanical design.
• In‑depth knowledge of ASHRAE, CIBSE, NFPA standards and local mechanical building codes.
• Expertise in HVAC, plumbing and fire‑protection system design and optimization.
• Experience with green‑building certifications such as LEED, Estidama, Mostadam and BREEAM.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities in mechanical system engineering.
