Procurement Officer – Technology & Construction Projects

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Procurement Officer to support ALEC’s technology and engineering projects across the UAE. The role involves sourcing, purchasing and managing materials, equipment and services to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate and onboard suppliers in line with company standards.
• Obtain and analyse quotations to secure best value while meeting technical specifications.
• Negotiate pricing, commercial terms and delivery schedules with suppliers.
• Prepare purchase orders and track progress through delivery.
• Coordinate with engineering, project and warehouse teams to guarantee material availability.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve any delivery, quality or commercial issues.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies, budgets and contractual obligations.
• Maintain accurate procurement records, supplier databases and purchasing documentation.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and process improvements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Business Administration, Engineering or a related field.
• 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in construction, MEP, ELV, ICT or technology sectors.
• Strong understanding of procurement processes, supplier management and commercial negotiations.
• Experience sourcing technical materials and equipment for engineering or construction projects.
• Excellent analytical, organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective communication and stakeholder management skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
