Project Engineer – Automation (Emirati Talent)

About the role

The Project Engineer – Automation will support the delivery of automation and control system projects for our oil & gas clients. The role focuses on PLC, SCADA and DCS solutions, ensuring they are designed, installed and commissioned to meet client and industry standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in execution of automation projects, including PLC, SCADA and DCS implementation.
• Support project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring.
• Coordinate with design, procurement and site teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Review technical documents, drawings and specifications.
• Assist in Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) and Site Acceptance Test (SAT) activities.
• Support installation, testing and commissioning of automation systems.
• Prepare daily and weekly progress reports and documentation.
• Liaise with vendors and subcontractors for technical support.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, client requirements, industry standards and HSE policies.

Required profile

• Engineering degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in automation projects within the oil & gas industry.
• Basic knowledge of PLC, SCADA and DCS systems.
• Familiarity with control panels, field instruments and wiring systems.
• Understanding of the full project lifecycle (engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning).
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
