Project Engineer - Construction

About the role

Careers International is looking for an experienced Project Engineer with a strong background in the construction industry to oversee and coordinate project activities from planning through execution. The engineer works closely with project teams, consultants, subcontractors and clients to deliver projects on time, within budget and to quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in planning, coordinating and executing construction projects.
• Monitor daily site activities and ensure work follows project schedules.
• Coordinate with project managers, consultants, contractors, subcontractors and site teams.
• Review project drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules, work progress and resource requirements.
• Ensure construction complies with approved drawings, specifications, quality and safety standards.
• Coordinate material requirements and follow up on procurement and deliveries.
• Attend project and site coordination meetings and identify site issues, providing technical solutions with the relevant teams.
• Monitor subcontractor performance and prepare project reports, progress updates and technical documentation.
• Ensure timely completion and handover of assigned project activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Project Engineer, including mandatory experience in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, site execution and project coordination.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural and construction drawings.
• Good coordination and communication skills; able to manage multiple site activities and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of project planning, scheduling and progress monitoring.
• Knowledge of project management software is an advantage.
