Project Engineer – Power Transmission & Distribution

About the role

The Project Engineer will manage planning, execution, monitoring and control of civil engineering activities for power transmission and distribution cabling projects, ensuring successful project completion and final clearance from clients and authorities.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare detailed civil works schedules in coordination with site and project managers.
• Review and approve engineering drawings, shop‑drawings, specifications and documents.
• Coordinate cable route engineering with design managers and obtain client and authority approvals.
• Manage site civil engineers and supervisors to meet schedule targets.
• Monitor resource utilization and ensure budget compliance.
• Coordinate client inspections, obtain certifications and compile documentation for invoicing.
• Accompany government authorities and RTA officials to secure final clearance certificates.
• Interpret geotechnical reports and oversee project activities to adhere to plans.

Required profile

• Bachelor or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
• 5–7 years of relevant experience in electrical projects, with at least 3 years supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience in designing building structures and transmission line towers is desirable.
• Approval from RTA for right‑of‑way project works.

Required skills

• Proficiency with civil engineering software.
• Experience using project management tools.
• Knowledge of relevant industry standards and authority regulations.
