Project Manager – Architecture

About the role

SOM is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead architectural project teams, ensuring design, technical, and financial success while fostering interdisciplinary collaboration.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the architectural project team in partnership with SOM Partners to achieve design, technical and financial goals.
• Prepare and manage client agreements, letters of intent, memoranda of understanding and professional service contracts.
• Chair weekly team meetings, issue minutes, and maintain accurate project records.
• Administer internal controls with the Project Accountant, including billing, collections, expense management and year‑end activities.
• Analyze project reports, manage profitability, and monitor scope for contract compliance.
• Support owner/client relationships, participate in business development and marketing efforts.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, work plans, and financial performance tracking.

Required profile

• Professional degree in Architecture; licensure process near completion, LEED accreditation preferred.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant experience leading project teams and managing schedule, budget and program.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and understanding of sustainable design principles.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, parametric and rendering software.
• Microsoft Office, Smartsheets, Adobe Suite, Google Workspace.
• Familiarity with Deltek Vision and Salesforce.
