Project Planner (Fit Out)

About the role

The Project Planner prepares turnkey project work programs according to the guidelines given by the Project Manager or Estimation Manager and monitors project progress against the plan so that completion is achieved within the specified timeframe.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare work programs specifying the time needed for each construction process, such as material procurement, mobilization, installation and manpower requirements.
• Prepare the master project schedule and plans during tender and present them to the Construction Manager, the Project Execution team and clients, where required, for review and approval.
• Monitor each process in coordination with the Construction Manager or planning engineer to ensure the plan is followed and the work proceeds as planned.
• Prepare reports on progress and the causes of delays or progress variations, and attend monthly project review meetings with the Consultant or Project Management representative.
• Review monthly progress reports for all projects after site visits, and prepare a progress report for management that highlights achievements against the program; investigate delays and suggest corrective actions.
• Coordinate with the Design and Procurement departments to manage timely submissions and material lead times, and track long-lead materials from the ATS purchase department and subcontractors.
• Provide monthly progress updates to the respective QS to support preparation of monthly progress and variation invoices.
• Prepare critical path analysis and impact programs to assess EOT claims, and prepare labor monitoring reports for turnkey and joinery departments showing budget versus actual costs.

Required profile

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering.
• 4 years of relevant experience in fit-out, joinery or civil projects.
• Good knowledge of the construction business, gained through formal training or at least 2-4 years of construction experience (fit-out experience preferred).
• Good knowledge of construction processes, attention to detail and a strong sense of time.

• Good working knowledge of Primavera or MS Project (essential)
