Project Manager - Commercial Projects

About the role

Careers International is recruiting an experienced Project Manager for commercial projects in the UAE, reporting to the Project Director / General Manager. The role covers delivering projects from pre-construction through completion and handover, including planning, budget and cost control, client and consultant coordination, team management, quality, safety and documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Manage commercial projects from pre-construction to completion and handover, developing plans, schedules and milestones and keeping projects on time, within budget and to specification.
• Monitor daily site progress, coordinate with consultants, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers, and lead project engineers, site engineers, supervisors and coordinators.
• Monitor budgets, costs, variations and cash flow; review BOQs, quotations, contracts and purchase orders; manage variation orders, claims and additional works with the commercial/QS team.
• Act as main contact for clients and consultants, attend meetings, understand client needs and manage expectations.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, UAE regulations and HSE requirements, coordinate QA/QC inspections and identify and mitigate risks.
• Maintain project documentation and reports, prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, track KPIs and milestones, and ensure documentation for testing, commissioning, snagging and handover.
• Coordinate testing, commissioning, snagging and rectification, and support final account closure and close-out.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related field.
• 8-12 years of relevant project management experience; experience in commercial construction or interior fit-out preferred.
• Proven experience managing projects from start to finish and managing multiple projects and priorities.
• Good understanding of UAE construction practices, regulations and HSE requirements; UAE/GCC project experience preferred.
• PMP certification or equivalent project management qualification is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of project planning, budgeting, contracts, procurement and site execution.
• Proficiency in MS Project / Primavera, AutoCAD and MS Office.
• Leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
