Project Manager – Greenfield 2.6GW CCGT Project

About the role

Al Jomaih Energy & Water is seeking a Project Manager to lead the execution of a greenfield 2.6 GW combined‑cycle gas turbine (CCGT) power plant in Taweelah, Abu Dhabi. The role covers the full project lifecycle from design and engineering through construction, commissioning and hand‑over to operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and control the project execution plan for the 2.6 GW CCGT plant.
• Lead the owner’s engineer team and manage EPC contractors, vendors and suppliers to achieve commercial operation date (COD).
• Ensure compliance with project management procedures, QA/QC, HSSE and engineering standards as defined in the PPA and EPC contract.
• Coordinate with internal and external parties to integrate the new plant with existing facilities while avoiding unplanned shutdowns.
• Lead weekly and monthly progress meetings, provide status updates and report to the Project Management Head.
• Oversee the review of MSRA for Permit‑to‑Work (PTW) system and manage any variation orders to minimise claims.

Required profile

• Proven experience managing large‑scale power generation projects, preferably CCGT or similar.
• Strong understanding of EPC contract administration and owner’s engineer responsibilities.
• Ability to work safely, within budget and on schedule while meeting regulatory and quality standards.
