About the role

Air Arabia is looking for a Propulsion Manager in Sharjah to manage the technical and commercial side of its engine and APU portfolio. The role covers powerplant reliability, shop visits, technical compliance, contract and cost management, and aircraft delivery and redelivery, working closely with OEMs, MRO providers and internal stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage the technical performance of a large A320 family fleet (CEO and NEO) fitted with CFM56 and LEAP engines.
  • Ensure enough engine and APU spares are available to avoid AOG events caused by powerplant issues.
  • Oversee all engine and APU shop visits, including redelivery, ensuring timely execution, proper scope, contractual compliance, cost control and return to service.
  • Liaise with OEMs on short- and long-term solutions for in-service issues and follow up on OEM advisories and CNRs.
  • Oversee scrap evaluations and piece-part inspections with OEMs and MROs, and review ADs, SBs and SLs to define compliance strategies.
  • Review and validate shop visit invoices, and lead budget planning and cost-control initiatives for powerplant maintenance.
  • Coordinate with CAMO, MCC, Planning, QA, Operations and others to improve maintenance programmes and operations.
  • Drive initiatives to reduce engineering delays, MEL items and PIREPs.
  • Provide direction, coaching and career guidance to team members and maintain a performance-driven team.

Required profile

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aeronautical or electro-mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of aviation experience, including at least 5 years in managerial roles.
  • Extensive experience in airline powerplant management, specifically CFM56 and LEAP engines.
  • Demonstrated track record of maintaining fleet reliability and reducing AOG occurrences.

Required skills

  • Strong expertise in engine and APU shop visits, borescope inspections and delivery/redelivery.
  • Proven ability in cost control and contract management.
  • In-depth knowledge of CAMO and regulatory frameworks (GCAA preferred).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
